Unable to install/remove Tuxera NTFS
Hi,
got a tough cookie. I cannot install Tuxera NTFS (Latest), nor can I uninstall it. I tried many things, probably goofing up my system at the same time, but I'm really stuck and I cannot reliably reinstall my machine (at work, not my job, no time to do so, blablabla, *insert excuse here for not reformatting*).
It USED to work, then for some reason it stopped working, and now I cannot make it work again. I'm a developer, so my computer gets nailed down with evilness.
When I tried to install it says installation has failed, to contact you. Here is my full Console log for that event:

Here is the error message when I try to uninstall:
All in all, I'm stuck.
System is Snow Leopard, latest. System locale is in French.
Any idea on what I can do?

Hi,
You can install Tuxera NTFS without MacFUSE to get a valid installation onto your system. To do so, click the 'Customize' button before proceeding with the installation (Tuxera NTFS installer) and deselect MacFUSE.
After that, you can again attempt to uninstall it through the Tuxera NTFS preference pane.
If you are still unable to uninstall, then we'll have to investigate more. Exit value 101 indicates that the uninstall script doesn't find the installer receipt, which should have been copied to /System/Library/Filesystems/fusefs_txantfs.fs/Support/Archive.bom at install time. Please attach a listing of the filesystem bundle by running the following command in the Terminal:
ls -laR /System/Library/Filesystems/fusefs_txantfs.fs/

Regarding the MacFUSE issues.. yes there are apparently some issues with the MacFUSE installer (which is why MacFUSE can be deselected when installing Tuxera NTFS). It generates a separate log file after a failed attempt at installing, '/tmp/.macfuse-install.log'. Please post that log file to the MacFUSE Google group so that the right people can comment on it: http://groups.google.com/group/macfuse

install part worked. Uninstall part worked once install part worked. I think the full installation is done, but the receipt is only created after MacFuse is installed. Since it didn't install, the receipt was never created, hence uninstall couldn't proceed adequately.
Now missing MacFuse, says /usr/local/lib/macfuse is not there (obviously since it's not installing). So my installation is done.
I will go see MacFuse for additional support, however, a small notice on this, since you are my vendor, and I'm not able to make my version work, you should be the one providing me support (I'd imagine Sony say 'well duh, that's one resistor that decided to fry on you, you should go get support from Holco'). My only 2 cents on that particular subject.

This is a good point. Maybe we can improve this in the future.

I completely agree with you. However, being a customer you have access to our dedicated customer support email address (see your activation email).
If you communicate with us through that address, we will of course take care of any issues that you report and not ask you to sort them out yourself.
The forum is for all users of NTFS-3G and Tuxera NTFS.. customers or not, which is why the support level will be more limited.
